Westminster Lodge has reached a landmark phase of its development with the fitting of a new roof.
The 60-metre long aluminium roof sheets, which will cover the two swimming pools and children’s water area, were put in place last week.
Mike Wakely, portfolio holder for sports, leisure and heritage at the district council, said: "It’s really good to see the roof go on at Westminster Lodge and to see the building starting to take shape."
The concrete structures that will form the swimming pool tanks were built during autumn last year, and the construction team is currently testing them.
The moveable floors for both pools are due to be delivered from Holland in May.
