A planning officer has recommended to refuse a St Albans resident's bid to install solar panels on their roof.
The resident of New England Street has applied for planning permission to put the renewable energy source on a sloping roof at the back of his terraced home.
The property is locally listed and is within the St Albans Conservation Area. For these reasons the planning officers feels the panels would have a detrimental impact on the character and appearance of the houses.
A district council planning committee is due to meet on Monday, April 2 to discuss the application.
