A mother from St Albans has been named the UK’s best parent blogger on the social networking site Twitter.

Chrissie Saunders has been running her parenting blog, Mediocre Mum, for the past three years and now has more than 6000 Twitter followers.

Klout.com, a website which measures blogging influence on the ability to engage and influence others, named her the UK’s top blogger on the popular networking site.

The 40-year-old blogger, who is a mother-of-one, said: “Life is so multi-faceted for parents.

“Obviously parenting is a very serious subject, but as a lot of us would also agree, it can also be very mundane.

“I aim to blog in a way which balances both of these sides to parenting by chatting in an open, honest way, engaging others and being supportive of them at the same time.”

The Canadian-born mother uses her blog to share her knowledge and opinions on a variety of family issues.

Her blog was also named the third best parents blog in the country by communications software company Cision.

She added: “I must admit I’m chuffed by the scores.”

As well as running her successful blog, Ms Saunders works as an IT consultant and she is currently running her own business on a national and international scale.
