Patrick Lennon was cleared on Thursday of attacking a man who had deleted him and his girlfriend as Facebook friends.
Mr Lennon, known as Paddy, was accused of assaulting Andrew Perkins after he had removed him and Tracey Sewell from his social networking site.
The attack was alleged to have taken place at around midnight at the couple's home in St Leonard's Close, Sandridge.
Mr Perkins suffered multiple wounds to his face and scalp, but Mr Lennon said he had nothing to do with the injuries.
Mr Lennon told the jury at St Albans crown court that blood spots found in his home had come from his dog and not Mr Perkins.
He pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent and a lesser, alternative charge of wounding on the night of 24 to 25 June last year and was cleared of both counts.
