Sunday, December 2, 6.30pm Advent procession sung by the Cathedral Choir.
Sunday, December 9, 3pm Christingle Service; 5.15 pm Organ Meditation Saturday 15th December 3pm St Albans Bach Choir Family Carol Concert. Tickets available only on entry – Adults £5 (Children £1 if seat required).
Saturday, December 15, 7pm St Albans Back Choir Carol Concert. Tickets available only on entry - £10 (Students and Disabled - £5).
Saturday, December 22, 11am, 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. Carols on the hour. Take a break from the Christmas shopping and enjoy a very special Cathedral event. Each carol service lasts just 30 minutes – enough time to sing some uplifting carols with the Cathedral choirs and to get a real taste of Christmas. All welcome. Free. No tickets required.
Christmas Eve 3pm Crib Service. A very popular and lively service lasting no more than an hour. Children visit the crib in the Cathedral and join in singing carols; 5.30pm Choral evensong for Christmas. A beautiful, quiet and reflective service sung by the Abbey Girls’ Choir;11.30pm Midnight mass. Doors open from 10.50pm.
Christmas Day 8am Eucharist with Carols; 9.30am Parish Eucharist. A Christmas service for all ages with crèche and children’s activities. Sung by the Abbey Girls’ Choir and the men of the Cathedral Choir; 11.15am Matins for Christmas Day, a service sung by the Cathedral Choir; 12.30pm Eucharist, A quiet service without music following Matins. Following the 12.30 service, the Cathedral will be closed for the rest of Christmas Day, but is otherwise open daily throughout the Christmas period.
Boxing Day 4pm Carols on Boxing Day Drop in if you’re out for a walk in the park and enjoy this short and informal carol service.
