A CHARITY fundraiser who juggles her work and personal life as well as volunteering for Grove House has been crowned the Review's latest unsung hero.
The Community Gold Award scheme is run in conjunction with St Albans solicitors Debenhams Ottaway and we have been rewarding local residents for the past 12 months.
The latest to be recognised is mother-of-two Wendy Seabrook who was nominated by her sister Anita who said she is always on the go.
As well as working a full-time job for Elizabeth Arden in the St Albans branch of Boots, 53-year-old Wendy fundraises for Grove House, cares for her mother once a week and runs Marshalswick Judo Club with her husband.
Wendy, of Windmill Avenue, St Albans, said she was surprised to be crowned winner of the award and thanks her sister for nominating her.
The mother-of-two and grandmother to six said: “I am really pleased I can't believe it, thank you very much.
“Me and Anita are really close which is lovely and I'm glad she nominated me.”
Anita, 47, praised her sister's dedication towards her family describing her as inspirational and said when they were younger Wendy was like a mother to her.
