Ibrar Ali, 42, of Sleapshyde Lane, Smallford. On May 9, 2014, dishonestly made off without having paid for fuel of £10. Community order made with exclusion and prohibited activity requirement; also, on same date, used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against him. Compensation, costs: £155.

Shaun Robert Taylor, 48, of Grove Road, Harpenden. On May 2, 2014, damaged a car belonging to another. Fine, compensation, costs: £2,310.

Leanne Caroline Tyler, 21, of Martins Court, Swallow Lane, St Albans. On May 12, 2014, stole items worth £6.50 from Iceland, St Albans. Fine, costs: £180.

Zachari Xavier Wilding, 22, of Belmont Court, Belmont Hill, St Albans. On May 15, 2014, destroyed a window belonging to another. Also, on May 17, 2014, was in possession of three small wraps of cannabis, a class B drug. Commission of further offence while subject to conditional discharge order for criminal damage (x2).  Restraining order made. Fine, compensation, costs: £321.

The following were convicted of being those in whose names vehicles were registered when they did not meet the insurance requirements of the Road Traffic Act (fine plus costs in brackets): Michelle-Jane Walker, 48, of Roman Way, Markyate (£330); James Booth, 47, of Gurney Court Road, St Albans (£330); Wai Yiu Chong, of Luton Road, Harpenden (£330).
