Welwyn Hatfield Residents’ Christmas Refuse and Recycling Collection Dates

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and Serco will be operating a revised schedule for refuse and recycling collections over the Christmas and New Year period.

Residents can find their alternative collection dates for the holiday period detailed on their recently received calendar card, as follows:-

Residents are reminded to ensure that their refuse and recyclables are available on the boundary of their property on the day of collection; by 5am for refuse and compost bins and by 6am for recycling bins. In the event of bad weather, collections could be affected and update information can be found on the council's website. A normal collections service will resume from Monday 9 January.

Councillor Colin Couch, Cabinet Member for the Environment and Parking said: “With the marvellous support of our residents, we have risen from 10th and bottom place in Hertfordshire, to second place for the reduction of waste to landfill and recycling. Furthermore, we will have achieved over £1M in income over the financial year which will be used to underpin council services.
