With the 2012 season finally just around the corner, The Lakeside Hammers fans favourite, Stuart Robson, is relishing the potential of the new look 2012 Hammers side.

After completing numerous laps at Tuesday’s team practice session, the rider renowned for his never give up attitude, looked forward to the Hammers 2012 campaign.

He commented: “The team is looking very strong this year, the Management have made some really good signings over the winter and I think we have a very good chance of silverware this year as long as we all steer clear of those dreaded injuries and engine problems. I think this is the strongest team line up I have been in for a while and I’m looking forward to getting on track with them, and doing the business in front of the Hammers fans.”

Having already competed in some competitive track action this season with a series of challenge meetings for his Premier League side, the Newcastle Diamonds, Robbo has also been impressed with fellow Diamond and Hammers doubling up reserve rider Richie Worrall.

Robbo continued saying: “The season so far for me has been good, it could have been better but it could have been worse too! Richie has started this season in excellent form. He’s a good young rider with a lot of potential, and looks like a different rider to last year, after spending the winter racing in Australia.”

The Hammers fans will be able to see their 2012 team take to the track tomorrow (Friday) when the Club have arranged a special ‘Open Night’ at their Arena Essex Raceway. In addition to the Elite League squad being present there will also be some track action for the juniors as they look to gain a place in the Young Hammers team in the newly formed Anglian Junior League. The fans will also have the opportunity of going on a track walk, taking their own team photograph, and seeing some action from the centre green. It all gets underway at 6pm when the pits will be open to the public. It is expected that the action on the track will get underway at 7.15pm.

The admission price for Friday will be just £5, with children aged 6 to 16 only £1. The Hammers 2012 Season Ticket holders will be able to enter without charge as their Season Tickets will apply for this special event.
