Awards search for inspirational people

The St Albans Review has teamed up with local solicitors Debenhams Ottaway to launch the ‘Inspiring People’ awards.

The aim of these awards is to give recognition to individuals who through their encouragement, support and mentoring have inspired young people within the St Albans district.

Review Group Editor Peter Wilson-Leary Said: “It is all too easy to criticise young people but there are many in our district that are hard working, motivated and keen to achieve. Of course this is the result of their own drive and the support of their parents/carers. However frequently people can name another individual who through their support or actions made a real impact on their life and inspired them to do more.”

“We are encouraging our readers to nominate these individuals for an award. Nominees could be teachers, heads, scout leaders, church leaders, youth group leaders, sports coaches, the list is endless.”

The awards will run from September 2011 to July 2012. The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges. Each winner will receive a crystal trophy. Their profile and a photograph will be published in the St Albans & Harpenden Review. Winners will be invited to an awards reception in September 2012.
