With more than 1,200 nominations received for this year's Retailer of the Year awards, the 2013 competition could be our biggest and best yet.

A total of 109 traders have been entered but there is still time to nominate your favourite if you cannot see them on our list below.

The deadline for nominations is midnight on Friday May 10.

There are six categories to choose from: cafes and restaurants, markets trader, hair and beauty, specialist shops, food and drink, and fashion and accessories.

The Retailer of the Year competition is a joint initiative between the Review, St Albans District Council, St Albans Civic Society and St Albans District Chamber of Commerce.

This is the sixth Retailer of the Year competition and our team of mystery shoppers will soon hit the streets of St Albans to put each and every trader to the test.

As usual, judges are also looking for retailers who go above and beyond the call of duty for our STAR award. This reward acknowledges retailers who have given something back to the community or perhaps helped a shopper out in a time of need. This award is sponsored by the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce

To nominate a retailer text the word ‘retailer’ followed by the name and address of the business to 80360. Texts cost 50p. You can also nominate by filling out the form in this week’s Review or by emailing revieweditor@london.newsquest.co.uk
