With so many popular stalls in St Albans this category usually receives the most nominations in our Retailer of the Year competition.

A number of stalls have been nominated already with each hoping to emulate the success of John's Fabrics who claimed this category award for the second time last year.

The stall was presented with the award by St Albans Civic Society’s Eric Roberts.

Staff at the haberdashery market stall managed to beat off competition from other nominated traders: Colin Wright- Bird Seed Stall, The Cheese Wheeler, Sycamore Whole Foods and Poulters Fish.

This category is sponsored by Waterstones.

You can nominate retailers in one of six categories - fashion and accessories; specialist shops; markets trader; restaurants and cafes, food and drink and hair and beauty.

The competition is a joint initiative between the Review, St Albans District Council, St Albans Civic Society and St Albans District Chamber of Commerce and is now in its seventh year.

This year's competition will once again culminate in a glittering gala awards evening at the Alban Arena on June 23.

All nominations should be received by midnight on May 9.

You can now nominate traders by tweeting our dedicated Retailer of the Year page: @StAlbansROTY Simply tell us the name of the shop/cafe/restaurant/trader and where they are based.
