A 27-YEAR-OLD who was shy at school has found himself dressing up in drag and kissing men on stage since he became part an improvised comedy group.

Dan Cayzer, from High Wycombe, is a member of ImproBabble – a group of performers which made waves at the Edinburgh Festival and has been putting on shows in London.

The shows involve the audience in various improvised games and follows a similar format to the former radio and television classic Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Dan, who lives on Pinions Road, has made some embarrassing and hilarious additions to his resume since joining the group and said: “You just have to go along with it and most of the time it's funny.”

In one game he had to dress up in “stupidly tight” gold leggings and was also once dared by an audience member to kiss a male colleague on stage.

He said: “It was a proper kiss and there were no-holes-barred. I wouldn't be dying to do that again but it went down a storm with the audience.”

Dan got involved in performance when he became “bored and unchallenged” as a film student at the former Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, which is now Bucks New University.

He said: “I was probably quite a shy boy at school – being in front of a crowd would have been very difficult for me.”

“But at college I just got kind of bored with the work and how my course was structured. There wasn't enough film-making involved.”

He said he went to the Dean of the college and they “pretty much drew up a whole new course” that involved more performance and practical skills.

He added: “I'm quite proud of that - there's a lot of people that do the course now.”

He also makes comedy films and recently came in the top 20 in Empire Movie Magazine's 60-second competition with his film company Uncle Susan Films Ltd.

Along with friends Ben Stoddart, 29, Gaz Carr, 32 and Chris Fullbrook, 31, he filmed a version of Silence of the Lambs and the group are hoping it will go on to make the top five, which is announced later this month.
