IF you fancy a good ole' trip back down memory lane into the murky world of early video gaming then the latest retro offering from Midway will get you there.
Midway Arcade Treasures features a host of old (and I mean old) titles that hit arcade screens in the 80s.
All the family favourites are here like NARC, Mortal Combat 1, 2 and 3, Hard Drivin' and Gauntlet 2 and are accompanied by 16 other retro classics old enough to bring back memories of O Levels and detention after class.
But the problem is these games were entertaining enough when they first came out but do they still hold the playability factor that kept us all ploughing 10p pieces into machines during trips to the seaside or when the fair came to town.
Well, in my opinion, no. I don't know if its the selection of games on offer but these old skool titles just don't hit the heights they did all those years ago.
Given the massive reach of today's video games market then owning this title could probably be likened to owning a Ferrari and choosing to drive a 1983 Mini.
Don't get me wrong, fans of 8 and 16bit systems will probably love this game but if Halo 2 or Rainbow Six 3 is more your bag then keep your money in your pocket because once the novelty value has worn off this will stay on the shelf.
