A DAVID Lynch film is not the easiest to describe, let alone review, but here goes...
The plot (if you can call it a plot) sees Laura Dern playing Nikki, an actress signed to star in a new movie, directed by Kingsley (Jeremy Irons) and co-starring Devon (Justin Theroux).
A neighbour, played by Grace Zabriskie, warns Nikki about the role and tells her the film is based on a gypsy curse.
It is actually a remake of a film which was never released because the original stars were brutally murdered.
As Nikki falls for her co-star she soon can't tell herself from her character, Sue.
At just under three hours, the film is a mess of infuriating incoherence, a puzzle which just when you think you have solved turns into something else.
Even after the film has finished it will have you trying to put together what you've just seen.
Lynch, whose past films include Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive, is a specialist at surreal masterpieces and while this might not appeal to the majority it has its moments.
If you feel like being brave and seeing something different give it a go.
