POLICE are appealing for a teenage couple who may have witnessed a robbery in Harpenden to come forward.
The incident happened at around 7.45pm in Arden Grove on Sunday (16) when a 55 year-old Harpenden woman was approached by two men who attempted to grab her handbag.
After a struggle it is believed the two men pushed her to the ground before taking the bag and getting into a V-reg silver Vauxhall Vetra. The pair made off up Station Road.
A couple, a man and a woman who are described as white and around 16 or 17 years-old, then came to the aid of the woman who was left with minor injuries.
Police are particularly interested in speaking to the couple, who are potential witnesses.
The first offender is described as white, around 6ft tall and wearing light clothes.
The second man was tall and wearing a grey hooded top made of flannel material, his skin colour is not known. Both are of slim build with broad shoulders.
Police, who released the information this afternoon, are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call the non-emergency number on 08453300222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111
