HARPENDEN's annual summer music festival has this week showcased an eclectic range of professional artists and young talent.
The festival runs until August 20
Young people from Harpenden Musicale's Young Artists Programme will be performing at the same venue on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20.
The music festival is organised to coincide with the summer music course for young instrumentalists so that students can be inspired by professional performers.
The intermediate orchestra will be playing on Friday at 7.30pm, the wind orchestra on Saturday at 3pm and the Young Artists' Symphony Orchestra on Saturday at 7.30pm.
The evening Symphony Orchestra concert, which features Tchaikowsky Romeo and Juliet Overture, Rachmaninof Piano Concerto No 2 and Elgar's Enigma' Variations, is already sold out but an extra performance has been scheduled at 11am on the same day.
There will also be a series of free lunchtime recitals at the High Street Methodist Church from Monday to Thursday between 1.15pm and 2pm, given by advanced students on the Young Artists Programme.
Tickets for any of the concerts at Harpenden Public Halls are available from the box office on 01582 460978.
