Helioslough: "Railfreight will not merge towns"

NOTHING has changed to alter the first inspector's conclusion that the railfreight depot will not merge towns and villages, Helioslough's barrister Matthew Reed has told the inquiry.

Summing up his case this morning, he said: “The council and Strife say the first inspector's conclusions regarding the merging of towns are just wrong.

“But there is no material change, neither east/west berween Park Street and London Colney, nor north/south between St Albans and Radlett.

"The development of Napsbury Park was largely complete at the point of the inquiry, and the development on the east side of Park Street was agreed.

“Both were taken into account.

“The development of a few industrial units at Ventura Park can hardly be described as a material change.”
