Barmond United thrash Buntingford Cougars

Barmond United cruised to a 9-0 win over Buntingford Cougars to put them into the fourth round of the Herts Junior Cup.

A hat-trick from Josh Taylor started the spree with Liam Donovan, Craig Beedell, Sam Parchment and Peter Jones all adding to the tally before half-time.

Mark Church and Barry Hensman completed the rout and now face Northolt in January for a place in the quarter-finals.

FC Cornerstone slumped to a 5-1 defeat at home to Abbots Langley in the same competition with Lloyd Taylor getting the solitary goal.

FC Letchworth entertained rivals London Colney Blues and it was the Blues who secured an impressive 5-0 win thanks to goals from Connor McGrath, Luigi Negri, Samuel Ayo and two from Daniel Roberts.

AFC Baldock’s cup tie away at Harpenden was called off due to frost.

Elsewhere in the league, St Ippolysts were defeated 6-0 by unbeaten Tansley.

The game started badly for the home side with their team being reduced to ten men after only ten minutes.

Tansley then coasted to the victory thanks to goals from Steve Newton, Daniel Amos, Scott Saunders, Lloyd Jones and two from Adam Davies.

Warriors also picked up a valuable 1-0 win over City Hearts after a lone effort from Chris Eist.
