St Albans City Ladies returned to action in style with a 6-0 win over Sandy.

The side had not been in action for a while due to a long break because of the wintry weather but City hit the ground running against Sandy.

St Albans netted three goals in the first 20 minutes through Holly Sheridan (2) and Molly Slade.

The second half started with an unexpected downhill surge from Sandy with a few chances on the home goal.

City soon regained control of the game and as the shots rained in on the Sandy goal it was only a matter of time before the goals started to be chalked up.

Christina Freestone netted a second-half hat-trick to finish off the victory.

Much of that was down to some good defensive work and great goalkeeping from last minute stand in Kelly Hancock.
