St Albans City Youth held their annual club awards at the Alban Arena on Sunday.

The Mayor Annie Brewster and Deputy Mayor Brian Gibbard of St Albans presented awards along with Edward Brain of Barclays Bank, club trustee Brian Pyke and record appearance maker Jake Deacon.

Helping to present the club pennants to the players was Megan Cockhill and Freya McCann from Sandringham School, who belonged to the Dragons Apprentices Scheme which raises funds for St Albans City Youth.

Club Officals Ian Woods, Dave Wray, Geoff Watts and Terry Edwards also helped out with the awards while joint St Albans City owner Lawrence Levy explained how the senior club will forge even closer links with the youth team. The Under-18s East player of the season was Dominic Watkins while Max Andrew and Eddie Rose both won the Under-18 North prize. Jack Pugh won the Under-18 South award and Robbie Tominey-Nevado (Under-16 North) was also rewarded.

Alex Port (Under-16 East), Charlie Ward (Under-15 North), Jack Gentle (Under-15 West) and Boreal Paolo Ditri (Under-15) picked up awards. Lewis Glasscoe (Under-15 Warriors), Alex Dennis (Under-14 West), Charlie Lunnis (Under-14 North), Tom Nicolson (Under-14 Orient) and Pablo Equilez (Under-14 South received awards.

William Sharp and Oliver Hann were joint winners in the Under-13 North team while Andrew Bailey was the Under-13 South star player. Taylor Fennel (Under-13 East), Gian Paolo Manzi (Under-13 West), William Ibbotson (Under-13 Orient) and Adam Purkis (Under-13 Boreal) were also recognised.

Under-12 North winner Matthew Breeze shared the honour with Harry Smith while Joe Newton (Under-12 South), Oscar Durrant (Under-12 Orient), Matthew Nash (Under-12 West) and Jacques Nolte (Under-12 East) were also acknowledged.

Joe Curran (Under-11 North), Daniel Banerjee (Under-11 South), Bradley Osborn (Under-11 East), Edward Johnson (Under-11 West) and Alex Sharkey (Under-11 Orient) were all award winners.

Kit Rainford (Under-10 North), Sam Doidge (Under-10 South), Charlie Stewart (Under-10 West), Aiden Walsh (Under-10 East), Ross Hermon (Under-10 Orient) and Elliot Smith (Under-10 Central) were recognised.

Max Emmett (Under-9 North), George Sippetts (Under-9 South), Jack Cullen (Under-9 West) and Ben Wick (Under-9 Central) were rewarded alongside Ben Freestone (Under-8 North and South) and Teddy Dunning (Under-8 East and West). Andrew Gilbey was acknowledged in the disability team.

In the girls teams, Olivia Almond and Scarlet Pattenden were the Under-14 joint winners. Mary Leach (Under-13 Girls North), Rosie McGahan (Under-13 Girls South), Katie Runacres (Under-12 Girls North), Hannah Coote (Under-12 Girls South), Sophie Veal (Under-11 Girls), and Charlotte Gurney (Under-10 Girls) were also recognised at the event.

The following players received plaques to mark their 100 appearances for the club; Akim Akinbinu, Olivia Almond, Jack Armstrong, Harrison Arnold, Daniel Augustine, Josh Bean, Guisepe Basile, Oliver Barnett, Ilias Bakhti, Younis Bakhti, Alfie Booth, Conor Casey, Ben Dimmock, Harrison Doyle, Daniel Emovon, David Etheridge, Taylor Fennel, Matthew Gallagher, Jack Gentle, Nathan Gibbins, Nathan Glasscoe, Tom Gordon, Ben Gosling, Nicola Gosling, Romy Kelleher, Mary Leach, James Mason, Tom McLeod, Daniel Newton, Joe Newton, Rose Noden, Isabeele Poole, Adam Pringle, Jack Pugh, Sam Reynolds, Harry Ross, Adam Skinner, Harry Smith, Sam Smith, Shauna Smith, Paul Spink, Chris Stevens, Abbie Sullivan, Morgan Trottman, Harvey Trounson, Graham Tuitt, Charlie Ward, Tom Ward, Nathan Watkins, Alex White, Evie Wilkinson, Scott Wilson, Jordan Wonnacott and Ben Yates. Max Andrew and Dominic Watkins were rewarded for making 200 appearances.
