Townsend reach London and Southern Counties Shield final

Townsend booked their place in the final of the London and Southern Counties Shield after a win over holders Essex.
The result was in doubt until the final shot of the last match but Townsend edged to a one shot victory.
The top rink for Townsend was skipped by Richard Briden and consisted of Peter Thomson, David Day and Peter Armstrong as they won 23-16.
The other victorious rink saw Andy Bates, Roger Potter, John Godman and Simon Gilbert win by four shots.
Townsend will compete in the final in three weeks as they look to repeat their success in 2007.
In the County League, Townsend defeated Radlett 57-28.
The top rink was skipped by Gilbert and featured Thomson, Day and Alan Charran as they won 33-13. The other rink was skipped by Danny Macro, with Jason Hall, Roger Potter and Dave Houghton as they won the match 24-15.
The second fixture was against Welwyn and District and resulted in Townsend retaining their 100 per cent winning record with a 36-33 victory.
Both rinks won with Hall, Gary West, Gilbert and Andy Briden victorious by 15-13, and Houghton, John Godman, Briden and Macro squeaking home 21-20.
Townsend visited Devizes Bowls Club and took a fine comeback from one foursome. From 18-4 down after 12 ends they won 23-20, to clinch a 5-3 result for the visitors.
The two rinks with the most impressive scores were Ron Seymour, Jane Dixon, Mike Haslam and skip Andy Scarborough, who won 27-11, and Audrey Rackham, Rena Williamson, Peter Thomson and Gordon Williamson, who recorded a 29-14 victory.
The final rink was skipped by Dave Houghton, and comprised Bob Padget and Jason Hall, as well as 94-year-old Norman McGlynn as they won 24-12.
