There were contrasting fortunes for St Albans Rangers Under-11s as they claimed a win but also suffered defeat from their weekend fixtures.
First up for Rangers was a clash against Northwood and a clinical display saw them run out 9-0 winners.
Goals from Matt Mooney, Jake Carty, Flynn O’Callaghan, Bradley Young and a brace from David Emiloju put St Albans in a comfortable position at the interval.
Mooney went on to complete a hat-trick in the second period and a Dan Morris strike rounded off the scoring.
In the last of their League Cup group games, Rangers suffered a 5-3 defeat.
Mooney headed the opener but Potters Bar responded with two goals in quick succession.
Emiloju grabbed an equaliser and St Albans went into the break ahead after Jake Carty finished well.
Potters Bar improved after the interval however, and they found the net on three occasions to seal victory.
St Albans Rangers Under-10s Reds crashed out of the League Cup following a 7-1 defeat, while the Under-11s White lost 10-3 to Borehamwood 2000.
Jamie Berger, Jack Geldard and Harrison Shipp netted for St Albans.
St Albans Rangers seniors secured their third successive win as goals from Sam Carrington, George Irving and Pedro De Silva sealed a 3-1 win over Queens Head Sandridge Reserves.
