Three hat-tricks helped St Albans City Ladies thrash AFC Dunstable Blues 14-0 as they boosted their automatic promotion hopes in Openage Division One.

AFC Dunstable Ladies Blues held their ground as second-placed City attacked from the whistle with some early efforts going just wide.

But the breakthrough came after ten minutes from the penalty spot when Amber Charlton fired home the opener.

The second goal came when Kelly Hancock turned sharply and fired home. The Saints kept the pressure on and were rewarded with a 5-0 lead at the break.

Second-half goals continued to flood in for St Albans giving Kelly Hancock and Molly Slade their hat-tricks, with Slade’s all coming from outside the box. Holly Sheridan also got in on the act with her neat treble coming in the last 15 minutes.

Charlton added another goal while Megan Kiff netted twice and Lucy Hancock marked her return from injury with a cheeky chip.

Their final game of the season is on Sunday when they face third-placed Flitwick. St Albans will be playing at their new ground for next season, Colney Heath, with a 2pm kick-off. Entry is free of charge.

The Ladies are looking for a new manager for next season. If any managers, preferably level two, are looking for a position, you can contact the club at stablanscityladiesfc@hotmail.co.uk.
