Townsend Bowls Club got off to a decent start
Townsend Bowls Club made a promising start to the season with a win at Redbourn.
Although many of the visitors hadn`t played at the artificial surface before, while the gusty wind created additional hazards, the performance was very good, with three of the four Townsend rinks winning and contributing to the 87-48 victory.
Top rink was Mike Cowell, Roger Potter and Ian Forster, with the other winning rinks comprising Richard Morgan, Wally Witham and Peter Thomson and Bernadette Martindill, Tony Izzard and Laurie Rackham.
