St Albans Bowls Club claimed an impressive 59-36 midweek win over Kings Langley.
The top rink was Margaret Christy, Sybil Steers and skip Jacy Farrer (18-9).
The men lost their midweek District League match against Hemel Hempstead 85-65. The top rink for St Albans was Alan Turner, Robin Farrer, Tom Banfield and John Bartlett (24-11).
In the London & Southern Counties Competition, John Bartlett lost his singles match against David Cartwright of Lonsdale 21-6. In the St Albans & District singles Ted Salvidge was beaten 21-14 by Noel Roberts of Harpenden.
St Albans’ men lost 3-1 to Potten End in the County Top 10. The team of Salvidge, John Bartlett and skip Steve Wilson won their triples game 16-10.
St Albans played Welwyn & District with the two ladies’ rinks winning 38-36. The four men’s rinks were not so fortunate losing 78-73.
The top rink was Derrick Orchard, Jim McGregor, Phil Macarthur and Steve Wilson (33-11). Adrian Poulter played his first game for the club.
