St Albans Bowling Club duo Steve Wilson and Keith Titmus advanced into the second round of the District Pairs competition after they defeated North Mymms’s David Slade and Robert Fowler.
Wilson and Titmus were seven shots down after four ends and going into the final end it looked as though defeat was on the cards.
However, they were able to win the final end by four shots to seal an unlikely 17-16 victory.
Pauline Gardiner and Tricia Gascoine recorded a comprehensive 28-6 win against Potters Bar’s Sue Powers and Pat Feeney in the County Pairs first round.
