Harpenden Bowls Club’s team reached the final of the national mixed pairs.
Linda and David Brooks reached the section final by defeating Pat and Dave Hillson from Rosedale 23-13. Their opponents in the final will be Mavis and Dave Hendry from Bushey.
A 21-18 win for Tony Redford in the national senior singles against David Bowler at Oak Hill took him through to the area semi-final against Mark Yelland at Garston.
In the third round of the ladies county singles, Linda Brooks comfortably beat Helen Winch of Hatfield 21-7, while Janet Hubball had a two and a half hour battle to defeat Joyce Terry from Harperbury 21-17.
In the first round of the district pairs, Alan Bostock and Redford overcame Townsend’s Ronnie Ranstead and Fred Mulberry 30-13.
