St Albans City will start their Conference South campaign with a home game against Hayes & Yeading United on Saturday, August 9.

The newly-promoted Saints will take on a side that finished in the relegation zone last season. But United stayed in the division after Hereford were kicked out of the Conference for failing to pay their debts.

City’s first away league game is on Tuesday, August 12 when the team travel to Staines Town before a trip to Farnborough the following Saturday.

The Saints return to Clarence Park on Saturday, August 23 to take on Bishop’s Stortford before visiting Eastbourne Borough on Bank Holiday Monday.

Joint manager James Gray will come up against former club Wealdstone when the sides meet at Grosvenor Vale on Saturday, September 20. The home game takes place on Saturday, February 28.

St Albans are away to local rivals Boreham Wood on Monday, October 6 before hosting them on Saturday, January 10.

The Saints entertain Hemel Hempstead Town on Boxing Day before the return game on New Year’s Day.

City end their campaign at Hayes on Saturday, April 25.

Salisbury City have been expelled from the Conference South and this means, subject to an appeal, the loss of the Saints’ home fixture on Saturday, January 31.

The club are offering free entry to the warm-up games against Dagenham & Redbridge, Eastleigh and Stevenage as compensation to season ticket holders.

In other news, midfielder Chris Watters has left the club to take up a player/coach role at Southern League Central Division side Royston Town.

Watters briefly joined the Saints in 2007 and returned for another spell after leaving Chesham United last September.
