St Albans Centurions successfully held their annual mini and junior rugby league festival on Saturday at Toulmin Drive.
The club had one Under-9 team and two Under-11 sides competing in the minis competition while their Under-12 team were involved in the junior competition.
In the minis section, the boys and girls in the Under-9 group won one match, drew three and lost two.
In the Under-11 age section, one of the Cents teams won all four games and the other won one, drew two and lost once.
The Cents Under-12s took part in a ‘round robin’ competition against Brentford Eels and Bartholomew School in Oxfordshire.
The Centurions took on Brentford in the final and Harry Dean scored a try with just five minutes left which gave the side a 10-6 victory.
Under-12s coach Craig Naylor said: “What we have seen today sums up our season, when we believe in ourselves we are unbeatable.
“I would like to thank everyone who has helped organise and run this event, we have had some wonderful support and seen some fantastic rugby league being played by all three teams and at the end of it all it’s absolutely terrific to come out on top.”
