Harpenden Town continued their impressive early season form with a 2-1 win over Amersham Town in South Midlands Division One.
The visitors opened the scoring from the penalty spot when Dean Pearce sent the keeper the wrong way.
But Harpenden were awarded a spot-kick in the second half for a handball but Harry Hunt’s effort was saved by keeper Billy Sharp.
However, they were handed a reprieve when another penalty was awarded immediately after a home player was clipped in the area.
James Yates tucked away the effort to level the match.
Nick Elliot then struck the post from 30 yards with less than ten minutes remaining.
But Harpenden snatched the points late on when keeper Sharp scored a freak own goal which helped take Town joint top of the table.
