St Albans Hockey Club's men’s team romped to a 6-0 win over Wisbech to move within four points of leaders Wapping.

Mark Lowden (2), Paul Cooper (2), Alex Spencer and Matt Davey netted to send the Tangerines into the home clash with Wapping this weekend full of confidence.

The men’s Fifths achieved an impressive six-point weekend with Sunday’s 3-2 win against Winchmore Hill following a 2-0 victory on Saturday against Bishop’s Stortford.

Three of the St Albans men’s teams hit opponents for six. At Oaklands, a John Barrett hat-trick paved the way for the Emperors' (men’s vets) 6-0 win over Maidenhead, after the men’s Fourths beat Southgate Adelaide 6-2.

The ladies team are in Nottingham this weekend for the National Division Two indoor finals.

The ladies Seconds hit form beating Chelmsford 4-0 to stay six points clear at the top of East Division 1S, through goals by Sarah Embrey (2), Emily Panniers and Fiona Nekeman.

The girls’ club captain Libe Fadrique and ladies skipper Liz Cleverly were on the scoresheet on Saturday.

Fadrique and junior coach Sophie White netted in the Fourth team's 2-2 draw with Leighton Buzzard while Cleverly scored twice as the thirds won 4-2 at Southend. The other goals came from Mar Copues and Amy Lynn.
