London Colney finished the season on a high with a 1-0 win at Stotfold on Tuesday after extending their unbeaten record to 25 matches.

The Blueboys picked up 20 clean sheets during this run which helped them finish second in the South Midlands Premier Division. Colney scored 55 goals and conceded just eight during this exceptional unbeaten record.

The visitors made a bright start and Spencer Clarke-Mardel was unlucky to see his shot cleared off the line by Ben L'Honore.

London Colney went close to scoring again in the second half but Jimmy Hill’s effort was blocked by goalkeeper Billy Welch. Stef Geraldes had the next attempt but his strike was tipped over the bar.

The breakthrough came just before the hour mark when a free-kick from Sam Doolan was helped on its way by Clarke-Mardel and Jimmy Hall fired the ball past the keeper.

The Blueboys pushed for a second goal but Hill was denied by a superb save from Welch. Hill also had a header cleared off the line by Mark Ellis. But it did not matter as London Colney competed an exceptional second half of the season with victory.
