St Albans City Youth Under-15 Girls North clinched the Girls Football Partnership Shield after a 3-2 win over Garston.

After only five minutes, Alice Tello put the Saints 1-0 up with a low shot into the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the box. The side did not have to wait long for the second goal and it again came through Tello with a superb lob from the edge of the area.

It was nearly 3-0 when Emily Schofield burst clear but her shot went just wide of the far post. Early in the second half Garston pulled a goal back to make it 2-1 and player of the match Tello was injured with damaged ligaments leaving the Saints down to ten players.

Very sportingly the Garston manager took off one of his players to level up the contest for the remainder of the match.

St Albans extended their lead when Shauna Smith’s cross found Danielle Tyler. Her first effort was blocked by the goalkeeper but she pounced to net the rebound effort.

Garston pulled another back but the Saints held on to win the Shield.

The Under-15 Boys ended their season with a 1-0 home win over Sandridge Rovers. The side were indebted to goalkeeper Tom Kerr for his performance and he came out on the pitch to score the only goal of the game.

St Albans Under-14s finished their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Everett Rovers with goals from Stefano Finco, Owen Field and a penalty in the last minute from Kai Quait. The man-of-the-match went to midfielder Elliot Osborn.

The Under-12s Central played a friendly at home to Sawbridgebury and a superb hat-trick from Daniel Williams helped them to a 4-1 victory. The other goal was scored by Joe Cussans.

The Under-9s Victoria played a friendly at home to Sandridge and won 2-0 with a goal from Cameron Wilson in the first period and a cracking strike from Freddie Row in the second half.

Four City Youth Under-9 teams took part in the Hatters Cup which was played on the pitch at Luton Town.

The Under-9s North won the trophy with the Under-9 South just missing out on reaching the final and making it an all Saints affair. The other two teams East and Victoria missed out on qualifying from the groups on goal difference.

City Youth Deaf team made it five wins out of five after a 4-2 win in an end of season friendly against Goffs Oak Old Boys.

The scorers for City Youth were Ben Norman (2), Tommy Hobson and Thomas Giddens. The man-of-the-match award went to Sam Haldane.
