Batchwood Hall's Liz Schlatter beat Sandra Smale 21-14 in the first round of the county singles.
Nora Endericks and Pat Savage defeated the Harpenden pair of Viv Dale and Lorna Thomson 24-15. The Batchwood pair were well ahead by the 15th end but the Harpenden pair came back very strongly taking the next three ends but Endericks and Savage managed to win the next two ends to hang in for victory.
Batchwood ladies were at home for a three rink match against Harpenden ladies as they fell to a 54-49 defeat. Top rink for Batchwood was Wendy Rowell, Christine Vickers, Endericks and Savage (22-14).
Batchwood men hosted a friendly against Owls in a four rink triples match - both teams winning on two rinks apiece. Batchwood won the match 73-65 with their top rink featuring Harry Pitchley, David Waters and John Harvey (25-12).
