Harpenden could only manage a draw with bottom side Hemel Hempstead Town in their Herts Premier Division match on Saturday at Heath Park.

After winning the toss, Harpenden put their opponents into bat and Hemel made a competitive total of 247 for eight. Will Jones was in superb form with the ball as he finished with six for 26 from 18 overs. The other wickets came from Ben Frazer as he claimed two for 76.

Harpenden struggled to find their best form with the bat and were arguably fortunate to avoid defeat as they finished on 233 for nine. Gregg Cooper opened with 38 and Daniel Blacktopp was the best performer hitting 77 from 86 balls.

Harpenden Seconds drew with Hemel Hempstead Town Seconds in Division Two B.

Hemel scored 252 for eight from their innings. In reply, Harpenden reached 209 for eight from 47 overs.

Harpenden Fifths lost by five wickets to Old Albanian Thirds in Regional Division A West.

Their score of 240 for eight looked to have put them in a decent position but Old Albanian managed to secure victory with five wickets in hand from 38 overs.

The Sixths lost by 23 runs to Hatch End Seconds in Regional Division C East.

Hatch End scored 203 for eight from their innings and Harpenden were dismissed for 180 in 42.2 overs.
