Batchwood Hall ladies fell to a 56-44 defeat in their three-rink district league match at St Albans.

The side could only win one of the three rinks. The team of Brenda Aris, Claire Taylor, Nora Endericks and skip Pat Savage were the top rink (21-12) for Batchwood. Batchwood Hall men managed a narrow win against Hemel Hempstead in the Bob Vise trophy first round. Both teams won on two rinks each but Batchwood claimed a narrow 75-73 victory.

In the men’s district pairs second round match, the Batchwood pair of Martin Myland and Steve Dean beat Chris Budden and Barry Woodman from Potters Bar 17-15.

Batchwood's opponents in the first match of the triples league were Hemel Hempstead. The Batchwood home triple lost by one shot but the away team won by six shots giving Batchwood a five-shot margin of victory.

Hemel Hempstead hosted a four rink friendly against Batchwood who found the green difficult and lost by 28 shots. Batchwood did managed to win on two of the four rinks with the top side featuring Dave Norrell, Gordon McGregor, Peter Coxall and Eddie Jacobs (20-13).
