Harpenden suffered a seven-wicket defeat at Herts Premier Division leaders Radlett on Saturday.

The visitors were put into bat after losing the toss and could only score a total of 190 for eight from their innings.

Opener Nick Lamb top scored with 58 and there were contributions from Ben Frazer (27), Scott Galloway (25) and Jake Pankhurst (24). Randeep Sanghera claimed figures of three for 44 and Rob Clements took two for 21.

In reply, Radlett eased to the target for the loss of three wickets in 41.3 overs. Jonathan McLean finished on 42 not out and Joe Cooke also scored 39 for the victors.

Frazer picked up two for 30 and Will Jones took one for 40 but Harpenden were still no match for the league leaders.

Harpenden Seconds defeated Potton Town by 98 runs in Division Two B.

The side scored 216 for five and dismissed their opponents for 118 to seal the points.

Bottom side St Albans ended their losing run with a low scoring 53-run victory over Preston in Division Two A.

Batting first, the Saints scored 148 all out from 46.5 overs. Robbie Goddard opened with 25 and Matt Howeson scored 38 for the strugglers.

But Preston had no answer with the bat as they crumbled to 95 all out in 35.2 overs with Daniel Rosson taking three for 18 while Henry Tyler and Joseph Clouting picked up two wickets each.

St Albans Seconds lost by 49 runs to Langlebury Seconds in Division Four B.

The Saints could only score 167 for eight in response to Langleybury’s total of 216 for nine.
