London Colney remain unbeaten after holding South Midlands Premier Division leaders AFC Dunstable to a 0-0 draw at home in their top of the table clash on Saturday.

The Blueboys are third in the table after stretching their unbeaten run to 29 league games.

The first chance of the game fell to Leo Cashman but his powerful strike was superbly kept out by goalkeeper Charlie May as he tipped it over the bar.

London Colney threatened through Sam Doolan’s header but his effort was saved by visiting keeper Ricky Perks.

AFC Dunstable did have the ball in the net but the hosts were relieved to see the effort ruled out for offside.

The hosts had another opportunity through Lee Close after an excellent solo run but his shot was well held by Perks.

At the other end of the pitch Tom Smith did well to clear off the line a header from Jermaine Hall.

The Blueboys should have taken the lead when a neat through ball split the visitors’ defence and Stef Geraldes was sent racing clear but Perks was quick off his line to block the shot with his legs.

AFC Dunstable’s BJ Christie went close to opening the scoring but he sent his speculative lob just over the bar.

May was called into action again during the second half when he pulled off a fine save from Moses Olayeye’s strike.

The visitors threatened again through Jack Woods but he fired wide.

London Colney should have opened the scoring from Rhys Lawrence’s free-kick but Greg Shaw and Tom Smith missed clear headers from right in front of the goal.

The Blueboys’ next league game is at fifth-placed Hertford Town this weekend.

London Colney Reserves kicked off their season with a 2-1 away win at Harpenden Town Reserves with goals from Cain Davey and Danny Burrows.

London Colney Blues beat Croxley Community 3-0 at home in the West Herts Premier Division with two goals from Jonny Armitt and one from Conor Bromwich.
