Harpenden Town extended their unbeaten run to five games after a superb 6-1 win at Broadfields United in South Midlands Division One on Saturday.

Striker Harry Hunt celebrated a return to form by scoring four goals with a magnificent performance.

Manager Danny Plumb said: “The buzz is back in the squad and I hope to now get the consistency of selection in the team as players come back from injury.

“The result was probably a bit harsh on Broadfields as they fought to catch up but it was a magnificent victory.”

Harpenden were on top from the start and went ahead with a goal from Jimmy Hill. Goalkeeper Sam Taylor launched a 60-yard goal kick which Hunt controlled impressively and with only the keeper to beat tucked it away nicely.

Just before half time Harrow based Broadfields got one back and but for a missed penalty could have been level.

In the second half Jimmy Hartley headed home before three goals from Hunt clinched a memorable win. The result takes the team up to seventh in the table.

Harpenden are holding the grand opening of the clubhouse after a £100,000 refurbishment on Saturday, October 10 in the home game against Broadfields United.
