City of St Albans Swimming Club finished seventh in the second round of the Arena National Swimming League at Hertfordshire Sports Village on Saturday.

Jessica Laitner achieved second place in the girls' Under-15 breaststroke and Lauren Stott was second in the girls' Under-13 butterfly. William Loveman secured runner-up spot in the boys' Under-15 breaststroke as Oscar Brice finished third in the boys' 10/11 backstroke.

Jessica Patrick gained third place in the girls' Under-13 backstroke and 12-year-old Ella Chown achieved an impressive third in the girls' Under-15 butterfly.

CoStA head coach Mike Cole said: “We achieved an excellent result in the first round and were hoping for something similar in the second. Our talented swimmers exceeded expectations, with an even better team performance against a very tough class of competition.”

The Arena National Swimming League sees over 400 teams competing in seven leagues around the country, comprising over 16,000 swimmers competing in over 200 galas. The next round for the London region takes place on December 12.
