Colney Heath Ladies produced a brave display with nine players after a 4-3 defeat to Offley and Stopsley in the League Cup on Sunday.

Injuries took their toll on the visitors as they were forced to field just nine players in their team.

But Holly Sheridan fired the visitors into the lead after just five minutes of the game.

It got even better for Colney Heath after 26 minutes when Sheridan set up Adi Milton for their second goal.

Offley put the ball in the net but it was ruled out for offside as they trailed 2-0 at the break.

Tiredness crept in after the break and the hosts drew level with two goals in quick succession.

In the 68th minute Offley took the lead for the first time and added another goal shortly afterwards.

Colney Heath refused to give up and struck the woodwork through Milton before their efforts were rewarded through a goal from the same player.

The visitors pushed for an equaliser but could not find a fourth goal despite a superb effort against the odds.
