St Albans based rugby club Verulamians plan to build on another memorable season as training and matches resume in September.

The club enjoyed continued cup and league success in the 2015-16 season at both senior and junior/mini levels, with promotion for several teams.

Over the summer it has continued with extensive ground and clubhouse refurbishments, aided by RFU grants and a NatWest Rugby Force Weekend.

This year promises even more, with record numbers expected to enrol on registration day for the minis and juniors section at 10am on Sunday, September 4.

Juniors and minis chairwoman Angela Clifford said: “We had an excellent World Cup year and we are hoping for even greater success in the next season."

Verulamians is a friendly community rugby club with a thriving junior section which has age groups from Under-7 through to Under-16, and three senior teams.
