Harpenden Town claimed a historic 2-1 FA Cup victory away at Cockfosters on Saturday in their first appearance in the competition for 11 years.
Their reward is a trip to Southern League Division One Central side Chalfont St Peter in the FA Cup preliminary round on August 20.
Manager Danny Plumb said: “To get through to the next round away from home is a brilliant result but there is lots to improve on.”
Recent arrival Sam James fired Harpenden into the lead after just seven minutes and it was quickly 2-0 when Harry Hunt volleyed home from a tight angle.
John Cush was sent off shortly afterwards for a foul on Hunt to leave the hosts with major problems.
Jonny Sexton pulled one back for Cockfosters but Harpenden held out for a memorable win over their higher division opponents.
London Colney also won 2-1 at Leverstock Green to earn a trip to Desborough Town in the next round.
Leverstock Green took the lead through George Biggadike’s header. But Jon Clements equalised before his 25-yard strike fired the Blueboys to victory.
