Sam Merson carried on the fine form which saw him win St Albans City’s October Player of the Month award as he scored in a 2-0 win over Dartford.
Tom Bender grabbed the Saints other goal in a victory which takes the Clarence Park club up to second in the National League South table.
Ian Allinson’s side arrived at Princes Park facing a stern test against a Dartford side which had not lost at home in eight games.
They were also on a five game winning streak, but City made light work of sweeping Dartford aside with a clinical first half showing.
Merson gave them the lead after 33 minutes and the visitors doubled their lead through Bender on the stroke of half-time. City will be confident of extending their three game winning streak in the league to four games when they take on 10th place Hungerford Town on Saturday.
Town will be no pushovers though after holding league leaders Maidenhead United to a 2-2 draw last time out in the league.
City are now three points adrift of Maidenhead.
