St Albans City have added further strength to their squad by completing the signing of Khale Da Costa.

Ian Allinson will hope the exciting winger can provide pace and trickery for his side in the 2018/19 campaign as the Saints look to mount a successful play-off push.

He arrives at Clarence Park with plenty of experience to his name and played for Concord Rangers last season.

Da Costa made his first strides in the professional game with Fulham and was also a part of Luton Town’s academy as a youngster.

It wasn’t until he made a move to Ware Town, however, that he made his first telling impression, going on to make over 100 appearances across three seasons for the Wodson Park club.

He then joined Hendon in the summer of 2016 before moving to Harlow Town and eventually joining Concord last year.

Da Costa’s flexibility will be a big draw for City and he is capable of operating on either the right or left wing.

A club statement took the chance to welcome Da Costa to Clarence Park.

While Da Costa’s arrival has helped bolster City’s ranks the rebuild job which Allinson has embarked on after his side narrowly missed a National League play-off spot has also led to a departure.

The club’s retained and released list saw defender Tom Gardiner informed he would not be offered a new deal ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

The 23-year-old defender joined City in January 2017 and has featured regularly under Allinson since he arrived at the club.

He made 22 outings for the Saints last season, 19 of which coming as a starter, and scored three goals in a total of 36 games for the Clarence Park outfit.

City thanked Gardiner for his service to the club and confirmed he has agreed a deal to play for fellow National League South club Wealdstone next season.

Away from player recruitment, season tickets are now on sale for the upcoming campaign.

The club have confirmed a price freeze on tickets, with adult admission to all of the club’s home games starting at £200 for those who are renewing.

Fans who are renewing their season tickets will be entitled to discounts of up to 20 per cent should they do so before June 30, with concessions costing £135 ($6.40 per game) and junior tickets £40 (£1.90 per game).
