Rob Farenheim's century earns Harpenden share of spoils

Rob Farenheim hit a maiden first-team century in Harpenden's draw with High Wycombe in Home Counties Premier Division One on Saturday.

Farenheim struck an unbeaten 139 off 156 balls in a terrific total of 341 for eight from Harpenden. Australian Ben Clements chipped in with 58 in 63 balls as Harp put a testing total on the scoreboard.

Wycombe skipper Matt Eyles produced the perfect response with an undefeated 132 as they comfortably held out finishing on 254 for four. Ben Frazer claimed three wickets but Harpenden couldn't replicate their brilliance with the bat.

Harpenden Seconds completed a four-wicket win over Reed in Division Two.

Ed Winchester struck 110 off 130 balls in a tremendous middle order display. This made up for a poor Harpenden performance with the ball in the first innings where Chris Roe, with three wickets, was the stand-out bowler as Reed reached 244 for seven.

Winchester's knock saw them home in 46.1 overs and keeps them in with a slight interest in the top of the table with two games left.

Harpenden Thirds lost at home to Totteridge Millhillians Seconds by one run in Division Three. Promising youngster James Latham struck 74 but could not see them home as Harpenden fell agonisingly short on 134 all out.

Alex Randall enjoyed a welcome return to form with his left-arm spin taking six for 27 as Totteridge were all out for 135.

In Division Seven, Harpenden Thirds cruised to an eight-wicket win over Dunstable Thirds.

Jason Gues took four for 66 and Paul Wadhams claimed four for 43 as Dunstable were dismissed for just 170.

Ben Cawood was not out on 64 as Harpenden ensured they will end the season in mid-table.
