Watford Ladies kick-off their Women’s Super League Two campaign tomorrow evening as they host Millwall Lionesses at Berkhamsted FC.

It’s the first of 18 Super League games for the Golden Girls as they attempt to win promotion to the first division.

The opening week of the campaign sees Watford play two home games. They face Millwall tomorrow and Aston Villa Ladies on Sunday.

Manager John Salomon believes Berkhamsted will provide plenty of home comforts.

He said: “Berkhamsted has been a bit of a fortress for us, particularly against the WSL clubs we have faced here. The players and staff all enjoy playing at Berkhamsted.

“We’ve been lucky enough to attract the support of the residents in their numbers on match days, so having two early games at home is definitely a bonus.”

Only three of the nine other WSL2 clubs competed against the Golden Girls last season.

Millwall will provide a new test. The Lionesses finished second in the Premier League Southern Division last campaign, winning 12 of their 18 games.

Watford’s last league match took place more than 11 months ago but Salomon insists his players are fully prepared for the forthcoming campaign.

He said: “We’re obviously looking forward to Wednesday. The club as a whole has been looking forward to the season starting, but when Wednesday comes we’ll be fully focused and ready.

“Ultimately the players know that every game is as important as the next in terms of accumulating points towards our target. It would be great to get off to a good start this week.”

Ticket prices for the match are £4 for adults and £2 for concessions. Season Tickets are also available. They cost £30 adults and £15 concessions.
