Hatfield ladies won their St Albans & District semi-finals.

Jackie Bell and Shena Eason won the Australian pairs against Dene Roberts and Val Christiaans of Harpenden on the tie break. Mary Banks, Barbara Albrecht and Helen Winch beat Marion Snell, Pat Stamp and Shirley Rowson of Rowley Lane 22-11 in the triples.

Banks played Harpenden's Beryl Birch in the singles winning 21-14 while Bell defeated Pauline Taylor 21-7 in the officers singles.

Banks and Bell went on to win the pairs 27-6 against Marion Snell and Val Yates of Rowley Lane.

The finals are being held at Hatfield Bowls Club next Sunday and Monday. The ladies will also be playing the finals of the triples league against Potters Bar and double rink against Harpenden.

John Bell celebrated by winning the internal two woods, men's championship, open championship and men's pairs with Alun Hoskins who also won the handicap. There was a brace for Shena Eason after winning the ladies championship and Maryland Open.

The Albrechts won the Australian pairs and the Banks won the mixed pairs. Banks also won the ladies handicap.
