Watford are favourites to win their opening game under new coach Oscar Garcia this weekend when they travel to Charlton Athletic.

The Hornets are second in the table and the bookies expect their form to continue when they head to the Valley. The best price you can get on an away win is 6/4 with Ladbrokes and this certainly does not smack of value.

The Addicks are unbeaten in the league this season and have won all three home matches so there is definitely an argument for saying 21/10 (Coral) on a Charlton win is overpriced.

But Bob Peeters’ side have drawn three times already and at 12/5 with Betfred, this looks a better bet considering Watford will be determined not to make a losing start under their new boss.

The last five matches between the sides have seen both teams score and this has been the case in eight of the last nine meetings. With this in mind, 7/10 for both teams to net with Ladbrokes seems a very fair price.

Belgian striker Igor Vetokele has scored four goals in the last three league games for Charlton and the summer signing looks worth backing at 2/1 with Betfred to net anytime.
